Hong Kong Disneyland’s A Disney Christmas runs from November 20, 2026 to January 3, 2027. The new winter market in World of Frozen is the reason I’d plan a visit this year, and every evening Main Street, U.S.A. lights its Christmas tree with a drone show and falling snow.
On December 31 the New Year’s Eve Countdown Party follows, and it needs only a park ticket and a park reservation. The only things that cost extra are concert seats, a New Year’s Eve Premier Access pass and a Christmas buffet package.

What Not to Miss
Everything in this section is included with a regular park ticket. These four are the ones I’d put on the plan first.
Christmas Tree Lighting on Main Street, U.S.A.

Main Street, U.S.A. is covered in lights, with a giant tree and carolers. Every evening, Christmas Goofy lights the tree, a drone show fills the sky and snow starts to fall.
Pro Tip: The lighting time isn’t published in advance. Check the park schedule in the Hong Kong Disneyland app on the day and get to Main Street early.
The World of Frozen Winter Market and Snowfall

World of Frozen has a new winter market this year, with seasonal snacks and handmade crafts. Olaf comes out to say hello, and when the snow falls, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff appear too.
Pro Tip: The snowfall and the market continue after Christmas Day until the event ends on January 3. If you’d rather skip the Christmas weekend, December 26 onward still has both.
Kristoff’s Surprise for Sven

Kristoff is making an ice-sculpture gift for his reindeer friend Sven, and he needs guests to help keep it a surprise. It’s a good stop with kids, and the ice Sven makes a festive photo.
Disney Friends in Christmas Outfits

Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, the Toy Story characters and the Winnie the Pooh family all wear Christmas outfits during the event. Greeting times and places change daily, so check the app.
Do You Need a Separate Ticket?
No. The decorations, tree lighting, character greetings, winter market and the December 31 countdown party all come with a park ticket and a park reservation for that day. Only the concert seats, the Premier Access viewing areas and the buffet package cost extra.
For two days, the official 2-Day Ticket starts at HK$769, which gives you a second day for the winter market and the tree lighting. Ticket tiers and prices are in my Hong Kong Disneyland planning guide. To decide on Disney Premier Access (a paid skip-the-line pass), see the Premier Access guide.

Which Paid Extras Are Worth It?
There are three paid extras for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. None of them includes park admission. You still need a ticket and a park reservation for that day.
| Paid extra | Dates | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disney Christmas Live in Concert! seats | Nov 21, 22, Dec 5, 6 | HK$299-479 | Seats at the castle stage |
| New Year’s Eve Premier Access | Dec 31 | From HK$659 | 8 rides, 3 viewing areas |
| Explorers Club Christmas buffet package | Selected dates Dec 12 to Jan 2 | From HK$613 | Buffet + Momentous viewing area |
Disney Christmas Live in Concert!

This Christmas concert plays at the castle stage on just four nights: November 21, 22 and December 5, 6, starting at 19:15. A different Hong Kong pianist plays each weekend, with more than 100 members of the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, and Mickey and Christmas Goofy appear too.
There are four seating passes:
- Standard seating: HK$299
- VIP 2 seating with a waffle: HK$369
- VIP 3 seating with soft serve: HK$369
- VIP 1 seating with a set meal at a World of Frozen restaurant: HK$479
Seats aren’t assigned. It’s first come, first served, and the park asks you to be at the seating entrance 30 minutes before the show. If your dates match one of the four nights and you want to sit and enjoy the whole concert, the standard pass is enough. VIP mostly adds a snack or a meal, so I’d only pick VIP 1 if it saves you a dinner stop.
Explorers Club Christmas Buffet Package

The package includes the Christmas buffet dinner at Explorers Club Restaurant and entry to the viewing area for Momentous, the nighttime castle show. On regular days it’s HK$613 for adults and HK$437 for children aged 3 to 11, service charge included. Special days cost more.
- Regular days: December 12 to 17, December 21 to 23, December 28 to 30
- Special days: December 18 to 20, December 24 to 27, December 31 to January 2
- Seatings: 16:00-17:30 or 18:00-19:30. On December 31: 17:00-18:30 or 19:00-20:30
Collect your wristband at the restaurant and be at the viewing area 30 minutes before the show. It works best for families, since dinner and a viewing spot are sorted in one booking. Pick a regular day to pay less.
When Should You Go?
Go on a weekday if you can. Weekends and the Christmas and New Year holidays are usually busier. Then match your dates to what you want most:
- For the concert: only November 21, 22 and December 5, 6.
- For the buffet at a lower price: pick a regular day. December 18 to 20 and the days around Christmas and New Year are special days.
- To skip the Christmas weekend: from December 26 to January 3 the snowfall and the winter market are still on.
- For the countdown: reserve your park visit for December 31 first.
Planning the Countdown Night

On December 31, Momentous starts at 21:00, and the countdown follows at the Castle of Magical Dreams. A DJ warms up the crowd with Disney hits, Goofy, Max and dancers lead the singing and dancing, and at midnight Mickey and Friends appear in a new segment.
The party itself needs no extra ticket. For a designated viewing area, you have two options:
- New Year’s Eve Premier Access: from HK$659, valid on December 31 only. It covers the countdown, Momentous and castle stage show viewing areas, priority entry once to Mickey and the Wondrous Book, and one priority ride each on 8 attractions: Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!, Mystic Manor, Iron Man Experience, “it’s a small world”, Frozen Ever After, Hyperspace Mountain and Mickey’s PhilharMagic. The price applies when you buy on the official site at least one day before your visit, and it can’t be cancelled or changed.
- Explorers Club Christmas buffet package: the December 31 package includes one entry to the countdown and Momentous viewing area.
Viewing areas are standing only, first come, first served, so arrive early. If you just want the countdown atmosphere, a regular ticket is enough. If you want more rides during the day and a set viewing spot at night, get the New Year’s Eve Premier Access.
The finish time and transport arrangements haven’t been announced yet, so check the official site before you go.
Food and Merchandise
A few seasonal treats are worth looking for:
- Main Street Corner Cafe Christmas set (from November 19): a duck and beef main for HK$368, with a Christmas parfait for HK$78 more
- World of Frozen: Olaf and snowgies snacks and hot chocolate from HK$48
- Plaza Inn: Olaf barbecue pork buns (two pieces) for HK$78, plus a 10% service charge
- Popcorn buckets: a light-up Mickey train bucket and a Toy Story gingerbread house bucket
The three resort hotels also have Christmas buffets in December. For hotel comparisons, see my Hong Kong Disneyland hotel guide.
Know Before You Go
- Reserve your visit: every visit needs a park reservation for that day, including December 31.
- Check show times in the app: tree lighting and character times change daily and can shift for weather or operations.
- Arrive early for viewing areas: be at the concert seats and the Momentous viewing area 30 minutes before the show. Countdown viewing is first come, first served.

My Take
For a first Christmas at Hong Kong Disneyland, my top picks are the evening tree lighting and the World of Frozen winter market, and neither costs extra. If your dates land on one of the four concert nights, add a seating pass.
Plan in this order: decide whether to match the concert or the countdown, then reserve your visit and buy tickets, and only then think about Premier Access or the buffet package.
