On a Saturday in July, Frozen Ever After hits 75 minutes by 10:30 AM. Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is at 60. Big Grizzly Mountain is at 45. That is three hours of standing for three rides — and most visitors only have one day.
Hong Kong Disneyland’s Disney Premier Access (DPA) is a paid skip-the-line system that lets you bypass those queues. This guide breaks down every package, compares prices, and tells you which rides are worth paying for — and which ones you can skip.
Quick Take
⚡ What it is: Disney Premier Access (DPA) — paid skip-the-line passes, per ride or in packages
📅 Worth it when: weekends, public holidays, school holidays, summer, 20th anniversary period
❌ Skip it when: quiet weekdays — most rides under 20 minutes
🎢 Best rides for DPA: Frozen Ever After, Big Grizzly Mountain
💰 Pricing: From HK$ 89 (single ride) or ~HK$ 199 (3-pack). Advance purchase is cheaper than same-day.

All Your Line-Skipping Options
The best strategy: arrive at park opening, head straight to World of Frozen, then use the 8 Attractions DPA for everything else. On my last weekend visit using this approach, I covered both Frozen rides at opening with minimal waits, then DPA’d through Big Grizzly Mountain, Mystic Manor, and the Tomorrowland rides before lunch — 7 rides done by 1 PM.
Here are all the ways to reduce your wait times, ranked by impact:
- Disney Premier Access (DPA) — Paid skip-the-line passes. Buy for a single ride (from HK$ 89) or in packages covering 3, 8, or 8 attractions + 2 shows. This is the main line-skipping option and the focus of this guide.
- Early Park Entry Pass — Enter up to one hour before general opening for HK$ 199. Also included free for guests at official Disneyland hotels.
- Single Rider — A free, separate queue for guests willing to ride alone (your group will not sit together). Available on Big Grizzly Mountain and sometimes Hyperspace Mountain. These lanes are not always available and are subject to daily operation conditions, often requiring you to ask a cast member at the entrance.
- Arrive early — World of Frozen is the park’s biggest bottleneck. If you arrive at opening and head there first, you can ride both Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs with waits under 15 minutes — no DPA needed for either.
- Show-time dips — During the Friendtastic! Parade and Festival of the Lion King showtimes, standby waits on rides drop noticeably. Use these windows to ride standby on attractions you did not DPA.

Which Package Should You Buy?
| If you are… | Buy this | Price (from) |
What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early risers | Early Entry Pass 🏷️ | ~HK$ 199 | Enter one hour before park opens, can finish major rides within 2 hours |
| One-day visitor, busy day | 8 Attractions 🏷️ | ~HK$ 399 | Frozen ride + Grizzly Mountain + Mystic Manor + 5 more. Covers all major waits. |
| One-day visitor, busy day + want show viewing | 8 Attractions + Momentous + 2 Shows | ~HK$ 659 | Everything in 8-pack + reserved Momentous, castle show, and theater show viewing. |
| One-day visitor, regular weekend | 3 Attractions | ~HK$ 199 | Choose 3 from 5 rides (no Frozen). Best value if you ride Frozen at opening. |
| Only care about 1–2 rides | Singles(in-app only) | HK$ 89–129/ride | Buy on the day in the app. Best for quiet days with one surprise queue. |
| Quiet weekday / Two-day visit |
Skip DPA | N/A | Check the app — if everything is under 20 min, save your money. |
Before you spend on DPA, consider the Early Park Entry Pass (HK$ 199). Hotel guests get this automatically, but anyone can buy it via Klook or Trip.com. With one hour of early access, you can ride both Frozen attractions, Big Grizzly Mountain, Mystic Manor, and still have time to walk onto several rides before the general crowd arrives. That head start alone can eliminate the need for DPA entirely.
3 Attractions is the entry-level package and the best value on a moderately busy day. Choose Big Grizzly Mountain, Mystic Manor, and Iron Man Experience — the three with the longest waits among the five options. The catch: World of Frozen rides are not included. This only works if you ride Frozen Ever After at park opening or during early entry.
8 Attractions is what most visitors should buy on a busy day. It adds Frozen Ever After, Hyperspace Mountain, Ant-Man, and Winnie the Pooh to the lineup. On a weekend where the Frozen rides hit 60+ minutes by mid-morning, this package eliminates the park’s biggest time sink. My recommendation for most visitors on a peak day.
8 Attractions + Momentous + 2 Shows adds reserved viewing areas for Momentous, the castle show, and a theatre show for roughly HK$ 260 more. On a quiet day, you can find a decent Momentous spot 30 minutes early for free. On a peak day, the reserved area saves you 60+ minutes of holding your ground on Main Street. Worth it on peak days if Momentous matters to you.

How DPA Saves You Time
DPA saves the most time on Frozen Ever After (45–75 minute standby on a busy day, cut to 5–10 minutes) and Big Grizzly Mountain (30–60 minutes). Mystic Manor and Iron Man Experience typically sit at 15–30 minutes — DPA is worth using if they climb above 30, but they are not the primary reason to buy a package.
On a busy Saturday, the Frozen rides + Big Grizzly Mountain + Hyperspace Mountain have combined standby waits of roughly 3–4 hours. The 8-pack at ~HK$ 399 saves you approximately 3 hours. That is roughly HK$ 130 per hour of time saved. For most visitors who have spent HK$ 669–939 on a park ticket plus travel costs, that trade-off makes sense.
On weekends, holidays, and the 20th anniversary period — DPA is worth it. On a quiet weekday — you do not need it. I have done full days on quiet Tuesdays where every ride was under 20 minutes. Save the money.

DPA Pricing
Prices are dynamic and change based on date and expected crowd levels. Advance purchase (at least 1 day before) is typically cheaper than same-day.

How to Buy DPA
Path 1: Pre-Purchase in Advance (Recommended)
Klook and Trip.com often offer cheaper DPA than the official website. This is the easiest option for international visitors who do not want to create a MyDisney HK account.
- Go to Official App, Klook, or Trip.com.
- Choose a ticket + DPA bundle, or a standalone DPA bundle if you already have tickets.
- You will receive a confirmation with mobile vouchers. Show it at the Premier Access entrance on the day.
Path 2: Advance Purchase on the Official Website
Purchase DPA at least one day before your visit through official website.
- Create a MyDisney HK account and link your park ticket.
- Select your DPA package and visit date.
- Complete payment — international credit cards are accepted.
- Your DPA will appear in the HKDL app linked to your ticket on the day.
Path 3: In the Official App (On the Day)
Download the Hong Kong Disneyland app, link your park ticket, and purchase DPA after entering the park. Same-day prices are typically higher than advance purchase. Single Attraction passes are only available same-day through the app.
Pro Tip: The higher-tier packages (8 + Momentous) can sell out on weekends and holidays. If your visit date is a known peak day, buy in advance.

How to Use DPA in the Park
Using DPA at Hong Kong Disneyland is really easy — you don’t need to overthink it. Every participating attraction has its own Premier Access entrance, which is just a separate lane right next to the regular standby line, clearly signposted so it’s easy to spot.
- Enter the park with your admission ticket as normal.
- Get your voucher.
- Scan your QR code — the cast member verifies it and you enter the priority lane. Typical wait is 5–10 minutes on a normal busy day, up to 15–20 minutes on peak holidays.
No time slot needed. All attractions are available from the moment you enter the park. Use them in whatever order makes sense based on current wait times.
Pro Tip: Check standby wait times on the app before scanning your DPA. If a ride is showing 10 minutes standby, ride it standby and save your DPA for later in the day when the same ride might be at 50 minutes. This is especially relevant for the 8-pack — rides like Winnie the Pooh and Ant-Man may never exceed 15 minutes on your visit date.
DPA: Frequently Asked Questions
My Take
I have visited Hong Kong Disneyland both with and without DPA. On a quiet Tuesday in March, every ride was under 20 minutes — I did not need DPA and would have wasted money buying it. On a Saturday in July, the Frozen rides alone would have cost me two hours of standing. DPA turned that into 10 minutes.
If you are visiting on a weekend or holiday, the 8 Attractions package is what I would buy. It covers Frozen Ever After — which are not in the 3-pack — plus every other ride where waits get painful. At ~HK$ 399, it saves you roughly 3 hours of standing on a busy day.
Here is how I would plan it: buy DPA and/or Early Entry Pass → arrive at park early → head to World of Frozen first and ride both Frozen attractions at opening when waits are shortest → then DPA through Big Grizzly Mountain and Mystic Manor mid-morning → use the rest of your DPA whenever queues build during the day.

For HK Disneyland, do you have to book time slots if you buy one of the passes that include multiple attractions? Or can you just walk onto the rides whenever you want? I’m used to Genie+ at DL and wondering how it compares.
How long are the waits in HK during summer? Is “rope-dropping” a thing?
Hi Michael, you don’t need to book a time slot for DPA to work. Simply walk to the priority lane and show your pass to the crew member for access.
Rope-drop is a must if you want to visit World of Frozen. HKD usually opens at 10am or 10:30am so it is recommended to arrive 30 minutes prior to opening.
